Youth Red Cross (YRC)

International Red Cross Movement was formed in the Geneva Convention of 1864 as an honor for the country Switzerland and Mr. Jean Henri Dunant, the originator of the idea. YRC (Youth Red Cross) is the youth wing working under the initiative of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement which has world wide recognition.

Youth Red Cross (Unit no: 32) of Ilahia college of engineering and technology, Mulavoor is one of the active YRC units in India. The team is lead by Abdul Azeez PM (Programme Officer) Mechanical lab instructor, ICET. The vision of YRC is to inspire , encourage , facilitate and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies, with a view of preventing and alleviating human suffering, and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.

Our sole aim is to mitigate the hurdles faced by society. We as college students strive to be a pillar of support for people on their times of need and desperation to the best of our abilities. We are more than a blood donation outfit and make it a point to interact with the 'forgettables' of the society such as special children, orphans, senior citizens etc. The fact that any significant change calls for mass involvement or a radical change in public is not missed on us and thus a lot of our work involves spreading social awareness through the means of skits , posters, walks and other ever increasing creative methods. YRC is more than a typical organization having a stark hierarchy. We're family.
